|Abstract||This paper studies an application of fire incident training in case of fire situations, which is occurred in offshore platform, to a simulator based on virtual reality technology. Many incidents occur in ships or offshore platform, and they cause the casualties and pecuniary loss. So, training for incidents is essential. The training simulator offers several important advantages, including cost and safety. Training simulation provides inexperienced workers or trainee with wide-ranging second-hand experience so that they can make prompt decisions and safe and organized responses in actual situations. To develop a simulator for fire incident training, it is necessary to design 3D model of offshore platform at first. Then the 3D model will be used in fire training simulator through UNITY engine. A visualization technique to express fire as realistic graphics to effectively achieve training goal has been especially considered and fire equipment or protective equipment is designed to create a realistic and accurate environment for the purposes of effective virtual training. Lastly, it is configured scenarios that can undertake simple fire-fighting activities such as fire extinguishing and evacuation in fire situations at offshore platform. As a result, offshore workers and trainees can be familiar with the fire situations occurred in offshore platform in advance.|
